Brain, Spine & Nervous System Care

When it comes to injuries, disease and issues related to your brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves, Shenandoah Medical Center is here for you. Our Neurology Physicians offer extensive experience, specialized expertise and access to advanced medical technologies to diagnose and treat a wide array of neurological disorders and neurological conditions. We treat headaches, radiculopathy, neuropathy, stoke, dementia, seizures, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, head trauma, sleep disorders, neuromuscular diseases and various infections and tumor of the nervous system.

Patients are referred to our neurology team by other physicians; generally a primary care provider. Our neurology faculty and staff work together to bring you the highest quality of care in a warm, friendly and professional environment. We offer care both in an inpatient and outpatient setting.

Our neurologists initiate the care process with a comprehensive medical history and then perform a physical examination focusing on evaluating the nervous system. Components of the neurological exam include assessment of you cognitive function, cranial nerves, motor strength, sensation, reflexes, coordination and gait. In some cases, additional diagnostic tests may be necessary. Our medical team has access to the most sophisticated testing resources available for diagnosing brain and nervous system problems. This includes: magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), electroencephalography (EEG), electomyography (EMG), positron emission tomography (or PET scans), and more.
