Physical Therapist

Josh Fuxa, PT, DPT

Josh earned his degree in Biology from Briar Cliff University in 2006, obtained his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Creighton University in 2009, then joined SMC in early 2010. Josh has always been intrigued by the variety that SMC Physical Therapy has had to offer including outpatient, inpatient, and aquatics. Josh enjoys working with orthopedic conditions and has experience with dry needling and blood flow restriction but also works with the pediatric population, utilizing DMI techniques. He considers SMC his second home, mainly because of the family dynamic SMC brings but also due to the constant community involvement.
When not working, Josh spends his free time trying to keep up with all 3 of his kids, spending time with his wife, Maria (whom is also employed at SMC as a nurse), and attempting to swing at golf balls. Josh loves spending time on the family's little 'farm,' taking care of the numerous animals (that his wife and kids wanted!), and going on adventures. Lastly, he appreciates having his parents, brother, and in-laws all in the area.

Physical Therapist

Anna Ruppelt, PT, DPT

Anna joined Shenandoah Medical Center in 2019. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of South Dakota. She enjoys being a part of the SMC Wellness Rehab team and working with people of all ages and diagnoses. She has a passion for developing creative and individualized exercises and activities to help patients return to their highest level of function and quality of life. Anna is a certified Parkinson's Wellness Recovery therapist and group exercise instructor and loves working with people with Parkinson's Community Exercise Group and Support Group at the SMC Wellness Center. Anna's favorite part of her job is building personal and meaningful relationships with her patients. Anna grew up and lives in Oakland, Iowa and enjoys living and working in the rural communities of Southwest Iowa. She enjoys golfing, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Physical Therapist

Jenny Delavan, PT, DPT, ATC

Jenny graduated from Creighton University with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2012, working for 12 years in Glenwood before transitioning as Director of Rehab at SMC in 2024. She is a Certified Athletic Trainer, as well as certified in Vestibular Rehabilitation and Dry Needling. Working in rural Iowa her entire career, Jenny brings extensive experience in working with a wide variety of patients and diagnoses in order to provide specialized care close to home, including (but not limited to): vestibular and balance disorders, pediatrics, sports medicine, and orthopedics. She loves finding new ways to treat a patient’s limitations and help them meet their personal goals, especially when it involves creative brainstorming. She also enjoys finding the “6 degrees of separation” while developing relationships with her patients, priding herself in having never met a stranger.
A Treynor native, Jenny lives near Tabor with her husband, Cory, and three daughters, Clara, Lucy, and Paisley. They live on a hobby farm with their dogs, cats, and chickens; in her free time she enjoys being outside with her family, trying to relax with her girls in the pool, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, and coaching her daughters’ sports teams.

Physical Therapist Assistant

Becky Lang, PTA

Becky is a southwest Iowa native, residing in Sidney with her husband, Aaron, and daughters, Rylee and Reagan. She graduated from Clarkson College in 2009, earning her Physical Therapist Assistant license and has been practicing in rural health since. She has been a part of the SMC family since 2012. Although she treats a wide range of patients she enjoys working with pediatrics, shoulders, and inpatients the most. She is certified in DMI (Dynamic Movement Intervention), which is a therapeutic technique used in physical and occupational therapy to treat children with motor delay by improving automatic postural responses and promoting progress towards developmental milestones. Outside of work you can find her at her kids’ activities, reading, helping raise a funny farm-turtle, chickens, fish, dog and (dreaming of horses and cows…someday), and spending time outside in the sunshine.

Physical Therapist Assistant

Kayla Paris, PTA

Kayla was born in Western Nebraska. She graduated from Utah College of Massage Therapy in 2005. Her and her husband Chris moved to Iowa in 2009.  After graduating from Clarkson College in 2015, Kayla worked as a PTA in various settings including long term care, brain injury care and home health care.  In November of 2023 she started at Shenandoah Medical Center working with an amazing team of therapists! Working in outpatient therapy allows her to work with a variety of patients. She enjoys working with the geriatric patients that come into the clinic as well as therapy the pool at the wellness center.
