SMC Sleep Center

If you have trouble falling (or staying) asleep, or sleep like a log and still wake up feeling tired, you may be one of the estimated 50 million Americans who suffer from a sleep disorder. If you suffer from insomnia, narcolepsy, or another disorder, rest easy; our patient-centered approach can provide you with the help you need. Our sleep center offers the latest in technology together with a board-certified sleep expert, to not only help diagnose you sleep disorder, but to also help treat it.

A trained sleep technician uses noninvasive equipment to monitor patients during an overnight stay in a private, home-like room. During that time, staff is able to monitor your brainwave patterns, heart rate, muscle movement, breathing, and leg movements.

If are a person who cannot sleep in any bed but your own, you may be eligible to do the sleep study in your own home! A home sleep study test is the same as an in-hospital sleep study, except that it’s done in YOUR home, and no one needs to stay overnight.

Why a Sleep Study?

A sleep study is required to fully understand your sleep difficulties. Sleep can be categorized into different stages, including, drowsiness, light sleep, deep sleep, and rapid eye movement (dream) sleep. By analyzing your sleep patterns as you cycle through each of those stages, we can determine whether a sleep disorder is present and recommend appropriate treatment if necessary.
