Holly Jorgensen
Holly Jorgensen, FNP-C, has joined SMC as a family medicine provider. She was born in Red Oak then spent some of her childhood in Clarinda. In her late teens, she relocated to Prescott, Arizona where she eventually attended her RN program. Holly completed her medical RN program at Yavapai College in Prescott, Arizona in addition to a BSN-MSN program at Chamberlain University in Addison, Illinois. After graduation, she came back to the Midwest to help care for her aging grandparents and to be closer to family.
Prior to nursing she had worked in retail management and was an optometrist assistant. She started her professional nursing career in long-term care for one year then went to Montgomery County Memorial Hospital and worked in the Med/Surgery department for approximately 6 months before she was transferred into the ACU (Step Down, Med-Surgery/Tele Unit). She worked in the ACU for approximately 10 years and then transferred into the Emergency Department for approximately 3 more years, during which time she completed her Family Nurse Practitioner certification program.
Holly enjoys taking care of patients of all ages but has a very special interest in geriatrics and end-of-life/palliative care. She finds it great honor to be able to improve a patient’s quality of life during the final stages of life. She is very excited to be starting her FNP career at the Shenandoah Medical Center. She believes it is a great honor to be trusted in providing healthcare for people in her community of Southwest Iowa.
