Dr. Burkholder offers monthly Gastroenterology clinics, along with a dedicated monthly surgery day to perform procedures such as EGD, EGD with dilatation, colonoscopy, EMR, and other advanced endoscopic services.

Dr. Burkholder completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, followed by an Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and brings extensive procedural experience, including advanced techniques in ERCP, EUS, EMR, ESD, and enteral stenting.

Before joining SMC, Dr. Burkholder gained diverse experience as a Hospitalist and Emergency Medicine physician across several health systems and has also served as a volunteer physician at the Hospital of Hope in Togo, West Africa. His professional interests include advanced endoscopic procedures and improving standards of care in gastrointestinal disease management.
