Orthopedic Specialist

Dr. Darren Keiser grew up in Nebraska, graduating from Millard North High School in Omaha. He is the oldest of nine children. He is an Eagle Scout. Dr. Darren Keiser is fluent in Spanish, since returning from a volunteer two-year mission in Guatemala.

He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brigham Young University. He graduated with High Distinction from The University of Nebraska Medical Center, as one of the top three students in his medical school class. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. He completed his orthopedic residency at the respected Campbell Clinic in Memphis, TN.

Dr. Darren Keiser practiced at the Methodist Physicians Clinic Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center from 2003-to 2020. He currently practices at MD West One. He was given the “Outstanding Young Nebraskan” award by the Nebraska Jaycees in 2008. He has been the honored recipient of several “Methodist Meaning of Care” awards. He is a member of the Nebraska Orthopedic Society and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is also a diplomat of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, passing his recertification exam in the top 93rd percentile of all practicing orthopedic surgeons. Dr. Keiser has dedicated much of his life to helping his patients optimally recover from their orthopedic ailments and works diligently to achieve happy outcomes.

Dr. Keiser is an active volunteer in church, charitable organizations, and the community. He loves spending time with his wife, six children, and grandchildren. He enjoys travel, the outdoors, music, and athletics.

Orthopedic Surgeon and Hip & Knee Doctor

Dr. Otterberg graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed his residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center/Creighton Orthopedic Foundation. He completed a fellowship in hip and knee replacement from Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He has served as Chief of Staff for Lakeside Hospital in 2015-2016 and 2020. Dr. Otterberg has been on the board of the Mid-America Orthopedic Association since 2009 and served as its president from 2022-2023. He is also active and serves on the board of the Nebraska Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation.

Orthopedic Surgeon - Foot & Ankle

After completing her orthopedic residency training at the combined Creighton/ Nebraska Health Foundation Program, Dr. Grier received fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery, with emphasis on foot and ankle trauma and other complex problems involving the foot and ankle, at the Florida Orthopedic Institute in Tampa, Florida.

Dr. Grier’s special interest is in lower extremity trauma and reconstruction. She also participates in a teaching role for the orthopedic residency program.

When not working, Dr. Grier enjoys spending time with family and friends, cross-fit, golf, and reading. She also enjoys watching Creighton athletics and provides orthopedic support and care for Creighton athletes.

Urogynecologist, OB-GYN

Dr. Woods attended undergraduate at Knox College in Galesburg, IL. He continued his education at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine where he obtained his Medical Doctorate. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Dr. Woods is a board certified OB/GYN as well as a Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG). In 2013, Dr. Woods became board certified in the a new subspecialty, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. In addition to obstetrics, gynecology and urogynecology, Dr. Woods became Board Certified in Obesity Medicine in 2018.
One of his passions includes lobbying for women's health care policy in Washington D.C. He has won numerous honors for his work in medicine and in Washington including the John McCain Fellowship from the American College of OB/GYN, the ACOG Leadership Program in Women's Health Policy, as well as being picked to serve as a Fellow for the Department of Health and Human Services Primary Health Care Policy in Washington, D.C. He has served on many boards and committees since starting his medical career including Chairperson of ACOG District VI Legislative Committee. Presently he serves as Co-Medical Director to Shenandoah Medical Center Clinical Division, Chair of Shenandoah’s Medical Center Peer Review Committee, Director of Urogynecology, serves on the Board of Directors for the Heartland Health Accountable Care Organization and Chair of Maternal Child Health at Shenandoah Medical Center.
Over the course of his 30-year career, he has earned a well-deserved reputation for providing personal, compassionate and comprehensive patient care using the best technologies and most trusted practices.
Dr. Woods grew up in a military family and moved extensively during his childhood. He’s a dedicated husband and a proud father of 8 daughters.

Obstetrician/Gynecologist

Dr. MacLeod-Kozal is a Nebraska native, born in Valentine and raised on a cattle ranch nearby. She attended Doane College in Crete, Nebraska where she graduated summa cum laude in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Honors Biology and minor in Spanish. She went on to attend medical school at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. Dr. MacLeod-Kozal then moved to Kansas City where she did her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Missouri Kansas City. She completed her residency training in June of 2012 and was honored to receive the Eugene W. J. Pearce Award for an outstanding resident with characteristics similar to Dr. Pearce including honesty, humility, and competence. Dr. MacLeod-Kozal also received the James P. Youngblood Award for best resident teacher, the Saint Luke's Hospital Outstanding Resident Award, and the Award for Best Clinical Research Project for a study looking at IUD removal rates.

Dr. MacLeod-Kozal was in private practice in Lincoln, NE from 2012 to 2018. She and her husband, Greg Kozal, relocated to Shenandoah in September of 2018. They have two children, Genevieve and Griffin, and a shih-tzu, Ozzie. They are happy to be back in a smaller community and are looking forward to raising their children here. Dr. MacLeod-Kozal is excited to serve the women of Shenandoah and surrounding communities, while being supported by other caring providers and staff. “I love providing care for women and walking through some of the most exciting and trying times of life with them.”
