Jennifer Lundgren’s primary focus is mental health care in rural settings. She is a professional member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and International Nurses Society on Addiction. Outside of working at Shenandoah Medical Center, Jennifer enjoys traveling with family, gardening, and hiking.
Dr. Abdi is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School. He completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at Queen’s University Academic Health Science Centre, where he served as chief resident. While there, he earned the Michael and Betty Dicketts Scholarship due to his commitment in medical education of both medical students and residents.
Dr. Abdi has been practicing in Iowa since 2019. He currently serves as President of University of Minnesota Medical School Alumni Board where he advocates for rural physicians in the Midwest and mentorship for medical students.
Dr. Abdi also has a passion for the betterment of his career, as he still participates in research. He currently is the associate editor at Advances in Radiation Oncology for the past four years and will be present at ASTRO in 2023. He is proficient in a wide range of advanced treatment techniques.
Besides all his passions at work, Dr. Abdi enjoys spending time on his hobby farm with his family. He enjoys rescuing horses and caring for his five cats. They enjoy biking, camping, and exploring national parks together, as well.
After completing her orthopedic residency training at the combined Creighton/ Nebraska Health Foundation Program, Dr. Grier received fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery, with emphasis on foot and ankle trauma and other complex problems involving the foot and ankle, at the Florida Orthopedic Institute in Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Grier’s special interest is in lower extremity trauma and reconstruction. She also participates in a teaching role for the orthopedic residency program.
When not working, Dr. Grier enjoys spending time with family and friends, cross-fit, golf, and reading. She also enjoys watching Creighton athletics and provides orthopedic support and care for Creighton athletes.

Jake was born and raised in Clarinda/New Market, IA area. He graduated from Clarinda High School in 1998. Jake has worked in orthopedics for the past 10 years as a Physician Assistant in clinic and surgery. Focusing on total joints, specifically sports medicine. He served in the US Army as a field medic and is an Iraqi War Veteran. He received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star with Valor, an three other Army Commendation medals. After the Army, he attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK for his undergraduate Biology degree, and then Western Michigan University for his Masters in Medicine, Physician Assistant studies.
In his free time, Jake enjoys spending time with his wife, Desiree, and their two boys. They enjoy fishing, camping, and the outdoors.
Dr. Melody Stone specializes in treating medical and cosmetic conditions of the skin, hair, and nails. Her greatest satisfaction is derived from knowing that along with her staff, she has helped her patients by providing the highest standard of care with a warm smile and a compassionate touch.
Dr. Stone is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of MOHS Surgery and the Kansas and Missouri Dermatological Societies. She has also performed dermatology research at Yale University, publishing many journal articles and chapters for dermatology textbooks.

Shannon is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 6 years of experience as a nurse practitioner and has been a nurse since 2007. Her practice has been focused on the child and adolescent populations including both inpatient and outpatient services. Shannon has been with Children’s Hospital & Medical Center since June 2021 and is looking forward to working with kids in Southwest Iowa.

Keith DeFini, PA-C, is a Physician Assistant specializing in Neurosurgery with Dr. Keith R. Lodhia at MD West ONE, formerly Midwest Neurosurgery.
Keith's background in sports is what inspired his journey into medicine. He enjoys the problem-solving and provider-patient care perspective of medicine. After graduating, Keith started his career in orthopedics, practiced for 15 years. Afterward, he joined our practice at MD West One, formerly Midwest Neurosurgery, and began working alongside Dr. Keith Lodhia, Neurosurgery & Spine Specialist. He has been practicing with Dr. Lodhia for six years now.
When Keith is not providing patient care, he enjoys spending time with his family and being involved at this local church.
